Every city has a place that visitors flock to but residents rarely see. In New York it’s the Statue of Liberty. In Los Angeles is the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And in San Antonio it’s the Alamo. Although the nearby River Walk certainly attracts it’s fair share of visitors and provides a much needed boost for the local economy, the Alamo is often relegated to an a “passing thought” by many of the locals. That might soon change. A group calling themselves Team Better Block recently held a festival at the Alamo showing how things might be if the city can approve spending a million dollars on improvements. The primary focus of this possible expansion would be to close the west end of Alamo Street and allow it to be an open market area for arts, crafts and food. For this “try-out” event, 10,000 folks showed up for the weekend which was a huge boost for the area.
Of course not everyone was in favor of this type of project but with the city looking for help to inject more money into local businesses this could be just the ticket. It might also mean that San Antonio becomes a bigger draw for tourists and visitors. If you’ve got family or friends living out of state you might be more inclined to invite them for a vacation if there is more to do around San Antonio. While there are plenty of hotels and inns for guests to stay at, nothing beats opening up your home provided you have the space. With the summer winding down, the holiday season will be right around the corner. Will you be inviting folks to spend some time with your family in the coming months? If so then you might want to make room by clearing out some junk taking up much needed space in your home.
It’s amazing how quickly we can fill up a spare room with useless stuff. What was once a perfectly decent guest room becomes a family’s dumping ground. That shouldn’t be the case. After all, you bought that house fully intending to use that spare room, right? Isn’t it time to reclaim that space? You can when you hire Junk King San Antonio.
Junk King San Antonio is a local business that can help you clean out the clutter from your home, garage or attic. Not only will you be supporting a local business but you’ll be getting a great deal. Junk King San Antonio doesn’t charge by the hour. They charge by the volume. In other words, the amount of space your junk takes up in their truck is what you’ll be charged. That’s a single price including all travel time, dumping fees and labor costs. This is a terrific bargain that should motivate you to get your home ready for visitors or just get rid of that junk once and for all. And because Junk King will do all the work, that means you’ll have more time to enjoy all that San Antonio has to offer. So remember the Alamo and remember Junk King San Antonio when you need to get the clutter out of your life.
Every January, San Antonio gyms overflow with new members. These folks are committing themselves to that New Year’s resolution to get in shape. Sadly, by March many of these same folks have forgotten about that resolution and the gym membership has lapsed. The usual excuses crop up: not enough time, not enough motivation and just plain bored by the whole gym scene. What is unfortunate is that we all need exercise to stay healthy. How we get that exercise shouldn’t be a deterrent. That’s why many homeowners have discovered the many benefits of having an in-home gym. It’s hard to come up with an excuse not to exercise when all you have to do is merely walk down the hallway or into the garage.
Way back in 1891, the folks of San Antonio wanted to find way to honor the heroes of the Texas Revolution so they came up with Fiesta San Antonio. Over the years, this celebration has evolved into a city-wide party running for several days. There are all kinds of tasty treats, art exhibits and parades filling up the days and nights.
Have you ever heard the saying, “One man’s junk is another man’s art?” Take a random tour of any San Antonio modern art gallery and you’ll find an amazing array of sculptures and paintings that incorporate what can best be described a garbage into art work. For these talented artists, everything is up for grabs: toilets, fast food wrappers, soda cans and even car parts. They all can provide inspiration for those artists that think outside of the box. Bigger pieces require bigger pieces of junk. Don’t be surprised to find a sculpture built around an old kitchen stove or sink. Could you turn your stove into a work of art? It could be fun to play around with, but what happens if it doesn’t turn out quite the way you’ve expected? You’ll then be left with a painted up stove that’s just sitting there being an eyesore. Maybe the better course of action is to leave the art to the artist and leave the old junk to a
There are four doors we open every single day: the bathroom door, the bedroom door, the front door and the refrigerator door. It is conceivable that if you’re alone in the home, you can avoid opening the bedroom door or bathroom door and just leave them open all the time. You can also avoid the front door if you hunker down (not unheard of on a cold winter day). That leaves the refrigerator door. That one you cannot avoid opening. Even if it’s to look inside to see what you need from the grocery store, you’ll be opening and closing the fridge. Now add up how many times in a day you do this and its quick to see that refrigerator door is getting quite a work out throughout the year. Is it time for a new fridge? If so, it is also the perfect time to contact a
