A local group called the Texas Campaign for the Environment is tackling the growing problem of getting rid of electronic waste by sponsoring a bill called the Producer TakeBack Recycling Program. Producer TakeBack Recycling is a product and waste management system in which manufacturers (“producers”), not consumers or government, are financially responsible for the environmentally safe management of their products when they are obsolete.”

While that is a very noble idea and one worth supporting we all know how long it takes for the government to do something right! By the time this bill would come up for a vote and then be implemented you might already have gone through a half a dozen cell phones, three desktop computers and two televisions!
