The next time you wander past a mattress showroom, take a peek at the folks shopping for a new bed. If you see someone hop on a mattress then hop right back up, then they are doing it all wrong. Despite how silly it might look, you should spend at least five to ten minutes recycling on any mattress you’re considering. That should also be ten minutes of comfortable clothes. If you’ve bundled up against the cold, you’re not going to get an accurate sense of what that mattress should feel like. Does this mean you should go shopping for a mattress in your pajamas? That depends on store policy, but it would be the best way to pick out a new mattress!
Even after you’ve taken the mattress for a “test drive” in the showroom, there is still a period of adjustment. Things are going to feel a lot different especially if you’ve been on a saggy mattress. It might take a couple of weeks for your body to make the switch. However, if you’re approaching week three and that mattress isn’t feeling right, then trade it in for a new model. When you add up all the hours you’re going to spend on that mattress you shouldn’t settle for something that doesn’t feel right. Of course, you need to make sure the store you’re buying your mattress from has a solid return policy as in “no questions asked, 30 day guarantee.”

Recently, Junk In The Trunk Vintage Market rolled through nearby Scottsdale to set up a one of a kind market. There were all kinds of vendors selling antiques and vintage items. There was also a workshop conducted by the co-owners of this organization, which showed folks how to give some of their old furniture a new lease on life. The idea was to take a table and give it a “distressed” look. This is supposed to make it look vintage and therefore appealing. Utilizing this type of furniture refurbishing depends a lot on your overall decorating scheme. If you’ve got modern furniture, this look isn’t going to work for you. Then there is that situation where no matter what you do, a piece of junk is still just that: a piece of junk. If you’re stuck with things like that then you should call Junk King Phoenix.
Last month, Phoenix’s Public works Department teamed up with the Keep Phoenix Beautiful project to host an “I Recycle Phoenix” festival. Technically, this was less of a festival and more of an opportunity for local residents to drop off recyclables in bulk. Things like books, car seats, clothes, office equipment and other e-waste was accepted. The caveat was that you had to bring all that stuff down to the drop off site on your own. You also had to make it on that date specified and between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. If you missed that day you were stuck with your junk unless you called Junk King Phoenix. These are the junk removal experts who won’t have a problem coming to your door for the junk removal.
To see if recycling programs are working you’ve got to dig through a lot of garbage. That’s what some Arizona State University students discovered as they sifted through 6,000 pounds of garbage all in the name of research.
The city of Phoenix is hoping to make a big change in how it gets rid of all its trash. Right now the city is managing to divert around 16% of all the trash away from area landfills. By 2020 they want that number to jump to at least 40%. To get there the Public Works Department is going to put into place a Pay-As-You-Throw plan. The idea is to charge folks less for a smaller 60-gallon trash container as opposed to the average 90-gallon bins. The hope is that it will encourage folks to do more recycling. They are also going to cut back on bulk trash collection. However, that is not something you need to worry about because Junk King Phoenix is standing by to pick up the slack.
