When was the last time you had a really good night’s sleep? When you eliminate all the standard reasons like removing stressful thoughts or making sure your home is quiet it might just come down to the issue of whether or not your mattress is comfortable. If you can’t even remember when you bought your mattress then it’s clearly time to get a new one. To get the most out a mattress you can only expect to have it for 5 to 8 years. Beyond that you’re on borrowed sleeping time. Before you head out to buy a new mattress you’ll want to consider these tips:
First of all, wear comfortable clothes. Yes, you should be prepared to lay down on a your potential mattress. If you’re bundled up in layers of clothes you’re not going to get a real sense of how that mattress feels. This doesn’t mean you should show up at the mattress store in your pajamas but you want to be able to feel the support you’re getting. You should really narrow your choices down to a few top picks and then give them at least a ten-minute test. Don’t be embarrassed to really give yourself time to feel the mattress; just don’t fall asleep!
A memory foam mattress has become a very popular item because it’s really comfortable. However, that foam might not hold up as long as the standard coil type of mattress. It’s best to find a mattress that can not only be rotated but flipped over. These dual mattress will hold their shape and firmness a lot longer than the average foam mattress.
When shopping for a coil mattress be sure to count your coils. Six hundred coils in a queen size bed is the average support for adults. Not only is the number of coils important but also the size of the gauge wire. The thicker the gauge the more support but it will also cost a bit more as you go up in size.
Even if you think you’ve picked the right mattress it is still going to take a bit for your body to adjust. Give yourself at least four weeks before deciding whether or not this is the right mattress for you. If not, then return it for a new model. Just make sure the store’s return policy will cover that return.
You’re also going to need to get rid of that old mattress. While it is true that some companies offer mattress removal there is usually an extra fee. What they can’t do is remove some of your other junk in the same trip. To get rid of a mattress and other bulky items you’ll be best off making the decision to hire Junk King Bucks County. It might seem like a crazy idea to take a soak in a hot tub when that tub is surrounded by snow but for those devotees of a soothing soak nothing beats a winter dip. The key is to make sure your hot tub is protected in the winter. Most models have a kind of “no-freeze” setting. This keeps the temperature of the water at an even warm setting throughout the day and night to prevent the pipes from freezing up. If you have a hot tub that only operates on a timer, you might have to adjust the settings to make sure to avoid those potential freeze-ups.

When the dust settles and the water recedes after a big storm like Hurricane Sandy, you always get the opportunity to see what great neighbors you have. It’s not different here in Bucks County where two local residents set up a Facebook group for volunteers to help with the clean-up efforts. Just for one weekend, they got over 150 people to sign up for the clean-up details. The group met around 7 a.m. on Saturday morning and were dispatched to do things like clear downed trees, branches and other debris. They won’t be dealing with downed power lines just “the grunt work.” Volunteers are asked to bring trash bags, shovels, saws, chain saws, and wheel barrows. SUVs and pickups were also needed to get the crews and equipment to the sites. It was like moving a small army but they got the job done and didn’t ask for anything in return. This is what being a good neighbor is all about.
The folks in Bucks County certainly felt the effects of the brutal winds and unrelenting rain from Hurricane Sandy. Many locals wandered out to their yards to discover fallen tree limbs, pieces of roofs and all kinds of other storm related debris that blew in. A cleanup like this can be very time consuming but you don’t have to do it alone. Junk King Bucks County will be standing by to help.
