When it comes to cleaning up the shoreline in Monterey the local volunteers aren’t messing around. On a recent Saturday morning, locals gathered to participate in Coastal Cleanup Day. Last year, this same group removed an incredible amount of trash and debris. Within a couple of hours eight tons of trash was picked up. That is equal parts awesome and sad. Awesome that they were able to accomplish so much but very sad they had to do this in the first place. Who is throwing out eight tons of garbage?
On the average, every person throws out around 28 pounds of garbage a week. That means a family of four is getting rid of around hundred pounds per garbage pickup. That’s still a lot of trash but at least it is ending up in the right place; namely your trashcan. Then there are instances when we’ve got items that won’t fit in the trashcan or can’t be thrown out because of environmental rules. When that happens you have two choices: hold onto that stuff or call Junk King.
Holding onto junk really doesn’t make any sense especially if storage space is at a premium in your home. Do you really need to keep your garage full of things that are broken or are never going to be used again? Do you need to struggle with junk every time you open a closet? You don’t have to when Junk King Monterey is just a phone call away.
When you make that call to Junk King you’ll be setting up a removal appointment that comes complete with a hard working two man crew and a large truck capable of hauling off whatever you’re throwing out. Don’t worry about pulling your junk down to the driveway. Instead, let the Junk King crew pick it up from wherever it is situated. That’s what you’re hiring them for! This means the Junk King crew can go upstairs to bring down the mattress or out into the garage to pick up the unused sporting equipment. If you need them to pick up some stuff from around your yard they’ll be happy to accommodate. They’ll even lend a hand cleaning up from a remodeling project. Bottom line: if you’ve got garbage to throw out that won’t fit in your cans, Junk King Monterey is the way to go.
In terms of pricing, you’ll be given an estimate based on the level of space your junk will take up on the back of the truck. You’re not going to be charged with any other fees beyond that single flat rate. Check out our website and read the glowing reviews. We’ve helped lots of your Monterey and Santa Cruz neighbors to pick up their junk. Now it can be your turn!
If you hear some buzzing up in your attic you’re not going crazy and you’re not being haunted. Instead, it could be a hive of bees. Recently a bee removal expert took out a 25-pound hive from an attic with around 30,000 bees living there. Obviously, this was a situation that took some time to build up. You’re not going to get a 25-pound hive overnight. But it just goes to show you that you might not know what’s going on up in your attic unless you give it the occasional inspection.
The Monterey City Disposal Service has some helpful hints for anyone who is moving into a new home or apartment. For instance, they recommend that if you know you have a move coming up you should start collecting useful items like empty boxes, bubble wrap or anything else you might use to wrap up your fragile items. The goal would be for you to reuse the kinds of boxes that are thrown out by stores instead of buying them new. They also recommend that when you change your address with the Post Office just file it as a temporary change versus a permanent change. This is because the U.S. Postal Service sells lists of permanent addresses to junk mail marketers but they don’t do so with temporary addresses. Thanks Postal Service!
