The average cost of a storage unit is around $20 a month. For that you can get a decent size space that will hold a fair amount of junk. However, down in Manhattan, like everything else, storage units are ridiculously overpriced. How overpriced? Try $300,000! That’s what a new resident to the posh Tribeca digs at 56 Leonard paid for their storage unit. It’s a two hundred square foot space that goes along with a three-bedroom penthouse apartment. So, yes, someone is spending the same amount on a storage unit that you could spend on an entire house just about anywhere else in the country. It just goes to show you how determined some people are to hold onto their stuff. Let’s hope what is being kept in that $300,000 storage unit is worth that much. It would be kind of silly if it was just a couple of boxes of shoes and an old mattress.
That should get you thinking about your own junk. Are you renting a storage unit to handle the overflow from your home or apartment? In some cases, it makes practical sense when you are moving in a hurry to rent a storage unit to tuck away all the things you can’t take with you. But if the reality show “Storage Wars” has taught us anything it is that folks forget about what they have in a unit and stop paying on it even when what is inside proves to be extremely valuable. If you have a storage unit you’re better off removing the valuables and getting rid of the junk. After all, if you’re keeping something in storage you’re not really using it are you? This is where a company like Junk King Hudson Valley can come into play.
One call to Junk King sets up a junk removal appointment that will allow you clear out a truckload of clutter from your home. That’s not an exaggeration because Junk King sends over a huge moving truck with every job. If you want to fill it up with rubbish go right ahead! Technically, you won’t be doing the actual “filling up.” That responsibility falls to the two-man Junk King crew. They will also be coming along with the big truck to do all the picking up and loading. All you need to focus on is what you want taken away and Junk King Hudson Valley will handle the rest.
Whether you need to have your junk picked up early in the morning, late in the afternoon or on the weekend, Junk King will strive to work around your schedule. Give them a call today and find out how that can help get rid of your junk tomorrow!
Cleaning up parks has its own reward and you can see it clearly on a bright summer day when folks turn out to enjoy the surroundings. But that doesn’t mean the cleaning team can’t be recognized for all their efforts. Back in 2012, a group of volunteers formed the Park Ridge Green Team and set out to pick up debris from Pascack and Mill Brooks plus the Mill Pond. By the end of the day they had gathered up 760 pounds of trash and over 500 pounds of recyclables. That didn’t stop there. The following year, the team reached out to neighboring Rockland communities for a bigger cleanup day. That lead to 173 volunteers showing up to pitch in and 2,500 pounds of trash being collected. Clearly, this is a group who loves cleaning up. As a result of their hard work the Green Team was given a special award from the state.
